The Open Door office is temporarily closed to/for walk-in services until further notification. However messages will be checked on a daily basis and will be returned within 24 hours Monday – Thursday.
Effective Parenting Classes are postponed until the Stay at Home order has expired (April 30, 2020) or we have been otherwise notified.
The monthly mentor trainings will be temporarily conducted via the internet or email using PowerPoint presentations.

Non-Profit Executive Director – Prison Re-Entry
Local non-profit seeks an Executive Director to manage the day -to- day operations of our Prison Re-entry Programs. Applicant must have interest and passion for Prison Ministry and the clients in which we serve. This position will oversee all programs, develop and implement new programs as needed, manage grant participation with other agencies and organizations. Applicant must be results-driven and have a proven record of proven success. This is a part-time position requiring 20 hrs. per week, Monday through Thursday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. (With schedule flexibility based on organizational needs.)
Recently, God directed our steps and “opened a door” for us to partner with Mount Olive Baptist Church and their Nest initiative. To better service the needs of our clients and help expand our ministries’ outreach we have relocated our offices to:

Who We Are
The Open Door is a non-profit, volunteer driven organization.
We offer mentoring and classes to women housed at the Calcasieu Parish Jail, and to those recently released.
